The class behind our chairs.

We've threaded brows in Edmonton since 2014, and we train every artist we hire the same way: from a 48-page guide and three hours of supervised practice. Now the class is open — to lash and brow professionals adding threading to their menu, and to anyone who wants to learn to read a face properly.

01The Curriculum

Three hours, one method

The class runs in the same order as the guide: read the face, draw the map, then pick up the thread. Mapping is practiced on each other. Threading stays on the mannequin until your line deserves a client.

Hour 01

Reading the face

Before anything is removed, you learn what you're looking at: eye shape, face shape, growth direction, asymmetry, and the questions we ask a client before we touch a brow. You map on another student, because real faces don't behave like diagrams.

Hour 02

The map

Start point, arch, tail. Where each one comes from, how to find them with a pencil and a length of thread, and when to bend the rules for the face in front of you. You draw the map until the checklist stops being a checklist.

Hour 03

Thread in hand

Threading on the mannequin head: how to hold the thread, control the line, and take only what the map allows. You leave with a practice plan for the next thirty days.

Bring nothing · thread, pencils, mannequin, and the guide are provided

02What You Take Home

You keep the book.

Academy № 01 is the manual we wrote for our own hires: the consultation questions, the six eye shapes and six face shapes, the mapping checklist, the aftercare scripts. Students get the same book, printed, nothing abridged.

The printed guide

Academy № 01, the 48-page manual we train our own artists on. A printed copy is on your chair when you arrive.

02

Three hours of instruction

Taught by a senior Urban Brows artist. Four to six students, so your map gets looked at, corrected, and looked at again.

03

Certificate of completion

Issued after class with a code anyone can verify at urbanbrows.com. It records that you trained with us — it is not a licence.

04

Digital access

A digital copy of the guide arrives with your confirmation email, so you can read it before you walk in.

About the certificate: Alberta doesn't licence estheticians, and we aren't pretending otherwise. The certificate of completion is not a licence, accreditation, or professional qualification. It records that you trained with us, and anyone can verify it online.

One more thing: we hire from this room. See careers if you want the Method to become your job.
